Platô Cultural is formed by a creative and multidisciplinary team with a strong background in education, arts, experience design, and management. We are driven by the desire of blurring boundaries between disciplines, creating bridges between sectors in order to respond to a world that urges for reinvention.
General and Artistic Direction
FRANCINE KLIEMANN
Francine Kliemann is the founder and Director of Platô Cultural. She holds a degree in Performing Arts from UFRGS (2011) and a Master's in Performance Making from Goldsmiths University of London (2017). She lived in London from 2016 to 2020, working on various cultural projects and artistic residencies in England and Europe. As a cultural entrepreneur resident at the Institute of Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths University of London from 2018 to 2020, she founded Platô Cultural and brought the startup to Florianópolis, Brazil, in early 2021. Her research focuses on immersive experiences as tools for social and educational transformation. In collaboration with Platô Cultural's team, she integrates research with practice through the "Immersive Learning Adventures" teaching approach, which combines immersive theater, new technologies, and gamification. Francine participates as a speaker in various seminars and conferences worldwide, presenting Platô Cultural's research and practice. She is an active member of ITAC (International Teaching Artist Collaborative), CAN (Community Arts Network), the Education Vertical of ACATE, and the Catalyst 2030 movement.
Educational coordinator
MÁRCIA DONADEL
Márcia Donadel is a theater artist, educator, researcher, and translator. She is the Head of Education for the immersive educational programs conducted by Platô Cultural. She co-created learning journeys, curriculum alignment, and social transformation assessments of Platô's programs through art, including the School of (Im)Possible, funded by the ITAC Climate Collective (2021) and the British Council (2022), which was awarded the ASHOKA Green Changemakers 2023; Readers' Factory, launched in 2022 in Corupá/SC and expanded in 2024; The ARctic Lighthouse, an educational and immersive augmented reality game, is currently under development and in testing phase in 2024, in collaboration with Instituto Eldorado and The Necessary Space. She also contributed to the creation of learning journeys, curriculum alignment, and coordinated the social impact of the TNS TV program, held in Scotland in partnership with The Necessary Space. Márcia has participated as a speaker in international conferences and webinars, including the 7th European Congress of Qualitative Inquiry 2024 and The X Childhood Studies 2024 in Finland, Eco-Librium 2023, DRHA 2022, and ITAC 6. Alongside the Platô team, she represents the creation and development of the artistic-pedagogical approach adopted by Platô Cultural, known as "immersive learning adventures". In 2024, she is leading the editorial team of the book "Reimagining Schools", under development with authors from various countries, envisioning new horizons for education. She plays key roles in teacher training as well as teaching artists training. She coordinates Platô's research areas in collaboration with the University of Helsinki and interfaces with educational systems in expansion and internationalization projects. She holds a graduate degree in Art, Body, and Education (2010), a Master's (2012), and a Ph.D. (2019) in Performing Arts from UFRGS, with a split-site program at Coventry University-UK under the Capes PDSE 2018 grant.
Manager and Executive Producer
JAVA ORLANDO
Java is the manager and executive producer at Platô Cultural, overseeing the national and international management and production of projects. She holds a degree in International Relations from PUC-Rio, with additional expertise in Latin American Studies, and a Master's in Performing Arts from the Universidade Estadual de Santa Catarina. Since her undergraduate studies, she has focused on the interdisciplinary fields of art, politics, management, and cultural development. Java has previously worked as a cultural producer across various sectors of the arts, including original music, theater, carnival, dance, audiovisuals, and teaching artistry. Her career in production began in 2012 as an international assistant at the Rio+20 UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro.
Art Educator and Communication
MARIANA ROSA
Mariana is an actress, theater teacher, and cultural producer. She holds a degree in Theater - Teaching from UFRGS and a Master's from the Graduate Program in Performing Arts at UFRGS. Throughout her education, she has studied under various national and international artists. Her notable theater productions include #7XBECKETT, The Palavrakis Couple, Expresso Paraíso, and BANDO, directed by Mauricio Casiraghi, as well as Imobilhados and 2068, directed by Liane Venturella. Mariana was nominated for the Açorianos Theater Award 2019 for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Expresso Paraíso. Currently, she works at Platô Cultural, where she is involved in communication and assists in the artistic-educational coordination of programs developed by Platô Cultural. As a teaching artist, she has contributed to the School of (Im)Possible project and was involved in the conception and creation of the Readers' Factory project.
Producer
MATHEUS HOFFMANN
Matheus Hoffmann is an educator and audiovisual creator. He holds a degree in Cinema and Audiovisual Studies from the Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil (UFF). During his university years, he researched cinema from Baixada Fluminense, Peripheral Cinema of Borders, and the intersections between technology and education. Currently based in Florianópolis/SC, Matheus works as an executive producer and teaching artist at Platô Cultural immersive educational programs. Additionally, as an audiovisual creator, he has extensive experience in production and screenwriting, actively involved since 2017 in directing independent short films. Notable works include "Ilhas" (awarded by the Elipse 2018 Grant, dir. Isabella Suplino, 2018) and "Azul Piscina" (jury prize at the 6th edition of the Metrô University Film Festival, dir. Pedro Fagim, 2021).
